The HFP-RTN is an alternative to the famous GT Supercar pumps and can be used in any vehicle that has a returnless fuel system as both an OEM or 255LPH performance replacement. The HFP-RTN flows a legitimate 265LPH at 45psi, and is the ideal fuel pump upgrades for 1998-2010 Mustang GT's, Mach 1's, 03-04 Cobra's, and V6 cars.
Starting in 1998, Ford changed their fuel system design from a return-style system to a returnless system. The primary purpose for converting almost all of their vehicles to this new type of fuel system was emissions. By not having a return line going all the back to the tank from the motor, there is less chance of fuel vapors being released into the atmosphere. Using a conventional 255LPH fuel pump in your 1998-2011 Mustang or Ford/Lincoln/Mazda/Mercury/Jaguar will lead to premature failure. The only viable option is to use a pump that is specifically designed to handle the voltage fluctuations of a returnless fuel system. HFPs newly designed HFP-RTN pump has been flow tested by RC Engineering, and is dimensionally identical to the OEM returnless pumps that Ford used from 1998 onwards. This pump can be used in any vehicle that has a returnless fuel system as both an OEM or 255LPH performance replacement.
This is the same proven pump design that powers our Coyote 5.0L shop car featured in Car Craft Magazine.
